Electronic, magnetic, optical properties, and morphological characteristics of nanocrystalline based on zinc–cobalt molybdate prepared by soft chemistry route

We report on a simple technique for the preparation of nanocrystalline metal molybdate Zn1-xCoxMoO4 (0 ? x 1) using polymeric route. The formation mechanism, homogeneity, and structure obtained powders were investigated with thermal analysis (TGA–DTA), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), field emission (SEM–FEG) Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET). particle size determined transmission (TEM). UV–Visible CIE L*a*b* colorimetric parameters used color characterization measurement. According to XRD compounds, cobalt content greater than or equal 45 %, phase formed after grinding is isomorphic ?-CoMoO4. A triclinic zinc ?-ZnMoO4 polycrystals compound observed less 30 %. monoclinic symmetry CoMoO4 coexist contents between % solid solution Zn0.7Co0.3MoO4 (ZnCoMo-0.3–600), which in an acidic environment, grains quasi-spherical shape nanometric sizes 100 nm. specific surface area (BET) decrease as function substitution Co2+ ZnMoO4, highest value recorded ZnCoMo-0.3–600 about 56.7 m2g?1. As result, we can claim clearly from diffuse reflection spectra that thermochromism occurs shift O2–?Mo6+ charge transfer band towards high energies. optical band-gap energy (Eg = 2.153 eV), ZnCoMo-1–700 (CoMoO4) classified semiconductor nanomaterial. theoretical magnetic moment this sample approximately ?theorical 5.00049 ?B.
